POEM: you don’t believe in

Share

you don’t believe in love over life
you don’t believe in living without strife
you don’t believe in a God of anything
you don’t believe in joys that holliday seasons can bring

you don’t believe in window shopping without money
you don’t believe in a million kisses sweet as honey
you don’t believe in a world without violence
you don’t believe in anything but the present tense

you don’t believe you deserve anything not your own making
you don’t believe there could be children no one would be forsaking
you don’t believe in ever trusting your emotions
you don’t believe in any lovers’ professed devotions

you don’t believe in goodness incarnate
you don’t believe in ever being just a tiny second late
you don’t believe in un-exploitable inventions
you don’t believe in changing or un-conventional conventions

you don’t believe in putting yourself before your fellow man
you don’t believe in anything anyone else can
you don’t believe in saving the last dance, not for anyone
you don’t believe there will be a second chance, not with the first one gone

you don’t believe in protecting and nursing mammals outside a zoo
you don’t believe in anything that your yourself cannot do
you don’t believe in beauty without a reason
you don’t believe in fruits out of season

you don’t believe in useless usefullness such as art
you don’t believe in opinions or appearances that set people apart
you don’t believe in intentions as all intentions denote egotism
you don’t believe in followers of any ’ism

you don’t believe in anything you cannot touch
you don’t believe in participating, you only want to watch
you don’t believe in raising your voice in anger or in joy
you don’t believe there could ever be a meal out of soy

you don’t believe this universe will ever come to an end
you don’t believe in predictions, they are naught but a bend
you don’t believe in luck for a buck for a jock
you don’t believe there is relevance in Future Shock

you don’t believe there will ever be peace on Earth
you don’t believe in anybody’s integral, un-touchable worth
you don’t believe in trusting children with their future
you don’t believe in healing wounds without catgut suture

you don’t believe in resting from a fall, you strive to re-find your feet
you don’t believe in any variation from your consistant diet of meat
you don’t believe in love at all, it spells listless organic voracious entropy
you don’t believe any definition of mentally applied energy

you don’t believe in sensing
you don’t believe in cleasing
you don’t believe in coming to terms
you don’t believe in unity, unity is a petri dish, brim-full of dying germs

you don’t believe in following a leader, on purpose or whim
you don’t believe in ever finding Her, or Him
you don’t believe in ample space for you anywhere, it must be so for everyone
you don’t believe in letting time consume those you once out-shone

you don’t believe in brevity, brevity sucks
you don’t believe in levity, control rocks
you don’t believe in lessons learned, experience gained
you don’t believe parent-child relations can be anything but strained

you don’t believe in levitation, the ground is where you belong
you don’t believe in re-inkarnation, as you cannot come back as a song
you don’t believe in silence, sound is what you make when you ACT
you don’t believe in trusting beings that don’t know tact

you don’t believe in dreams, that is: dreams coming true
you don’t believe this mirror image to be you
